- Check the credentials (drivers license, business details) of anyone you deal with
- Ask the supplier to prove that the fill isn’t contaminated
- Supervise and inspect loads of incoming fill
- Record details of all transporters bringing fill onto your property
- Keep copies of all documents and records
- Don’t risk fines or costly cleanups
- Bulking factor: remember to allow an approx 20% increase in soil volume after excavation

- Step 4: Find a dump site nearby and negotiate terms with dumpsite contact
Can’t find a dumpsite? Then list an ad using the Quicklist feature on the right side of the page and get ready for a call from someone nearby that needs your soil!
Scenario 2: Your Rural Property needs 2000m3 of soil to level off a sloping embankment
- Step 1: Go to www.soilswap.com.au
- Step 2: Click on Want Soil!
- Step 3: Click on State or type in postcode for local search
- Step 4: Find appropriate soil nearby and negotiate terms with soil contact
Can’t find soil? Then list an ad using the Quicklist feature on the right side of the page and get ready for a call from someone nearby that needs your soil!
Scenario 3: You need a site cut and levelled for you house slab
- Step 1: Go to www.soilswap.com.au
- Step 2: Click on List and Find Tenders
- Step 3: Type in the information and job detail on the “List your own tender” section
- Step 4: Get ready for calls from someone that wants your work

Scenario 4: Your Earth Moving business needs more work
- Step 1: Go to www.soilswap.com.au
- Step 2: Click on List and Find Tenders
- Step 3: Enter your post code in the “Looking for a Tender” area
- Step 4: Contact the person who listed the tender and negotiate terms
